Privacy & cookies
How HLF uses personal information, and how this website works.
Who we are
HLF Electrical Ltd, trading as HLF, is the data controller for this website. We are registered in Scotland, company number SC731963. Our registered office is 56 Grange Terrace, Bo’ness, Falkirk, EH51 9DU. You can contact us at info@hlf-group.com.
What we collect
When you send the project enquiry form, we keep what you enter: your name, company, email, phone number and the details of your project. It is stored securely by our website hosting provider and seen only by HLF.
If you use the project assistant on the contact page, the description you type is sent to an AI service to suggest services and draft your enquiry. We do not store it unless you then send the enquiry.
When you email or phone us, we keep a record of that correspondence. This is usually your name, company, contact details and the details of your enquiry.
Why we use it
We use this information to reply to your enquiry and to discuss and provide our services. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in answering business enquiries, or steps taken at your request before entering into a contract. We do not sell your information or use it for automated decision-making.
Who sees it
Our email and website hosting providers process information on our behalf, including the enquiries sent through the website. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, such as IP addresses, to run and secure the website. We share information with others only where the law requires it or where you ask us to.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiries for as long as we need to deal with them and for up to 24 months afterwards. If we work together, we keep records for as long as our contract and legal duties require.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you, object to how we use it, or ask us to restrict it, by emailing info@hlf-group.com. If you are unhappy with how we handle your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
Cookies
This website does not use tracking or advertising cookies, or analytics. It keeps your cookie choice, and whether the opening screen has already played, in your browser’s own storage on your device; this is not sent to us or anyone else. Its fonts and images are part of the page, so viewing it does not send your information to other companies.
Links to other websites, such as LinkedIn and standards publishers, take you to sites with their own privacy policies.
